Gotta get to the bottom of this!

A polaroid picture of Mr. Nishida, who is standing still and smiling. A side of him seems to be covered in shadows, creating an ominous of menacing appearance. The background behind him is of shadowed pieces of written text and paper.

Personal Info

Gov. Name: Yoshiaki Nishida
Alias: Mr. Nishida, Journalist
Age: 28
Nationality: Japanese
Gender: Male, he/him
Sexuality: Asexual

Appearance

Height: 5’9
Body Type: Endomorph; Round and chubby physique.

Mr. Nishida has slightly tanned skin, a stout frame, and dark brown (almost black) eyes behind his rectangle-frame glasses. His straight black hair is often hidden underneath a dark purple cap. Meanwhile, his usual uniform consists of a white dress shirt, a purple necktie, a dark purple coat, black trousers, and black dress shoes.

Personality

To the public eye, Mr. Nishida is just another overachieving, amateur journalist; Charismatic, ditzy, and interrogative, easy to ignore once you push past him and the microphone in his hand. To those he tracks down and collects information on, however, Nishida becomes a silent force to reckon with; He knows how to ask the right questions, to analyze, to stalk, to observe, and to prod for information until he's satisfied.

However, ever since his employment by the Administrator, Mr. Nishida has since mellowed out. Now on the sidelines, he's far more quiet and more willing to keep his distance. Nishida has become almost hyperfocused on his work– erasing and covering up the messes his mercenary coworkers leave behind, while leaking blackmail on the Administrator's biggest enemies. But he remains curious, and dangerously so.

Lore

Mr. Nishida was never in it for the money, the fame, nor the honor. All the jobs he took on, all the sleepless nights, all the research– it was only to sate his own curiosity.

Really, it's no wonder that things turned out this way.

While Mr. Nishida seemed unassuming on the surface, he was indeed the reckless type. Even throughout his highschool and college years, he often hopped from one topic of interest to another, finding and providing all the information and content he can for the newspapers until the next trend comes along. No matter what this trend was– whether it was about fashion, cars, comedies, or tragedies, Nishida put his heart and soul into finding out the what's, the why's, and the how's.

One topic caught his eye, however; a string of disappearances, brought to his attention by a suddenly missing, distant family member– a cousin of his who was always neck-deep in shady trouble. Nishida was never close with her, but he couldn’t help but wonder why so many people were missing. It was awfully interesting to him.

From then on, it was official; another one of Nishida’s near-obsessive hunts for information started. Nishida started small at first, he gathered the surface knowledge and evidence, and narrowed down the facts. He interviewed, he wrote, he even stalked a few suspicious people at some point– until he wound up in an alley in Osaka, blindly following the tracks his research revealed. It was stupid of him to get so close to what he was looking into, but he couldn’t help it. He concluded that he was dealing with the Yakuza– the Yakuza for god’s sake! It wasn’t everyday that something like this happened, and Nishida was an opportunist.

Nishida refused to see it at the time, but that was a grave mistake. Alas, the thrill had him at an all time high, and he didn’t realize it until it was too late. The moment he tried stepping any closer to the source– to snap a picture, to learn more, to do anything –he was knocked out.

Whatever had happened to Nishida during his lapse of unconsciousness, he doesn’t remember. All that he knows is when he woke up– blood pouring down his forehead and tied to a chair –a group of mercenaries had raided the building, leaving gunshots, exploded debris, and fire in their wake. And that his current employer and her assistant were approaching him with a job offer and a secure future in mind.
