Who the hell is Tavros Nitram?

Tavros Nitram is one of the many 12 trolls in Homestuck. He bears the sign of Taurus and dreams on Prospit. His SGRUB classpect is the Page of Breath! Just like meeee! c|:3

He has many interests, such as: Fairies, fantasy stories, Pupa Pan, roleplaying games like FLARP, and Fiduspawn! c|:D He dreams of becoming a cavalreaper one day, and practices using a makeshift target in front of his hive.

Tavros also has (very overpowered) communing powers, meaning he can communicate with animals! How fucking cool is that? c|:D (So cool. It is so damn cool. He used them to make an omnipotent dog teleport something away once. I wish I could do that.)

He also tends to use escapism as a coping mechanism, which isn't a really helpful thing to have in a dog-eat-dog world/game, but I can't blame him.... c|:')

Tavros is friends (or at least, implied to be) with: Gamzee Makara, Aradia Megido, Terezi Pyrope, Nepeta Leijon, Kanaya Maryam, and eventually Jake English!

Okay but, what does he do?

Due to his Page class, not much, admittedly.. c|:”( Pages are infamous for their slow development and if it’s messed up in any way by literally anyone, they may go straight back to square one! Can’t think for yourself if someone constantly thinx for you, after all!!

Tavros also doesn’t get a lot of screen-time in canon, and whenever he does, it’s usually him being mocked, being told what to do, or being forced to do it. While that sometimes helps, most of the time it just takes away the greater progress he could’ve made by himself…. (I am very angry about this, but I’ll put that aside for this shrine…)

He never god-tiered and was killed before he could do anything important. Yeah. c|:”(

And his treatment in the comic is also pretty ableist and generally very unfair in many ways, but since that’s not xactly my place to talk I’ll just. Think about it. Write a few fix. Cry. Be angry at the world for a few seconds before I go back to loving it again. Yeah ! !

But other than that!!! He’s often seen being a very nice troll! As in, he’s very bad at being one. First time we see him trolling someone, he blox them because he presumably got overwhelmed. It’s fine, though. He got over it! c|:) He’s very quick to forgiveness (concerningly so) but that’s usually only because he forgot.

During the pre-retconned three year journey, however, he got sick of a certain someone’s shit, and promptly, finally left. Leading three others to follow him, and therefore being the Pagely troll he was always meant to be. ^^ Holy shit! Fucking finally!!! c|>:”””D

The next time we saw him, he had an entire ghost army following him around. Hell yeah!! c|x) (And all he had to do was be friendly.. Icon!)

A different Tavros gets turned into a sprite (again) (this happened before) at some point, and gets fused with a cat. A godly one. Good for him!! ^^

Now if only he wasn't allergic to them.. And put to sleep right after. He woke up a bit later and seemed perfectly fine, though! So I repeat; Good for him. c|:) (Just imagine. Tavros with the attitude of an overpowered cat. Overpowered². Amazing.) (I don't know why they let him have that much power, but I think that they should let him use it. c|:3)

I don't fucking know... There's nothing remotely special or unique about this guy. Relatable characters just mean that much to me, I'm afraid. No matter how poorly written they are. c|:')

Really, that's it! My first favorite character wasn't even him, it was Terezi!! But the moment I figured out that this guy is outcasted by the narrative (the fucking NARRATIVE?!!?!) for basically no reason at all, it was over for me. I had a new character to cry and smile and write and draw about. What the hell was I supposed to do about that? c|:"(

Tavros was whimsical, an escapist, a fan of fantasy, and so disadvantaged for nothing! And has so many problems that he'll have to fix up all by himself mostly because his peers decided that they didn't like him! Just like me!! What the fucking fuck! Who let a webcomic do that!! I didn't give it permission to use my likeness! c|>x"0

I could probably make an entire essay on how fucked up he'd be after everything (and god fucking damnit, I will, I will, for the catharsis and somehow genuine concern for the fixional character) because I've had the displeasure of having to live through most of the xperiences he went through, completely sober with only visions of anger and revenge fueling me. That's fucked up. I don't do that anymore but he could. Doesn't help that I'd probably encourage him to do so, either. What the fuck?

Anyway umm. I blame him for making me enjoy Homestuck long after having read it. I would've moved on like a normal media-consumer, but the characters just had to be likeable and relatable. Thank you, Tavros Nitram. I hope you're doing well, Tavros Nitram.

Elaborate on this "Connexion" thing..

Okay. If I must. c|:""( (Joking. I would do this anywhere I think. I am that annoying.)

I tend to see Tavros as my son, but I don't axually think he is. My connexion to him just feels familial, that's all! c|:) I would probably refer to him as a sibling, but you know. I don't axually know the guy.. He is not real.. Tavros is too distant to be a sibling, but too similar to be a complete stranger, if that somehow makes sense...

I would call him my best friend instead of my son (or something else familial) to xplain this weird connexion, but again, too distant. It's like we encounter each other once every family reunion and that's it. This probably makes no sense at all, but it does for me. My distant family member Tavros Nitram. c|:)

This could also just be me being Affected By Problems and Wanting To Fix Them but umm. I can't deal with that right now. I don't have the time nor money. Sorry. No comment.. >>
